A new movie is being filmed in Middletown and surrounding communities, and according to officials it's boosting the local economy.

The movie is called "The Price Of Freedom" and stars Paul Sorvino from Goodfellas, and Navid Negahban from Homeland, among others.

The film is a true story of an Iranian Jew who had an underground railroad to help people leave the country during the Ayatollah Khomeini's regime during the 1970s.

They are spending 20 days filming in Middletown and Orange County, then will move to Italy to continue filming.

Maria Bruni, who is the director for Middletown Economic Development, ">told Time Warner Cable, "The economic viability of an event and production like this just shows throughout the city and the county as a whole."

There are many locations where they are filming including: The Paramont Theater in Middletown, Toro Medical School, Orange County Airport, and many private homes in the Goshen area, according to the report.

Paul Sorvino added: "It's a combination of help from the community and from the officials and a desire to help promote film production which is very very good for the area."
