NBC's Nightly News Anchor and Managing Editor Brian Williams has been suspended for 6 months without pay, because of the investigation regarding comments of his experiences early in the Iraq War.

On the Nightly News Jan.30 Williams took Command Sergeant Major Tim Terpak, who just retired with three bronze stars, to a Rangers game where the Sergeant received a standing ovation. In honoring Terpak, Williams told the story of when his helicopter was hit by an RPG, but his story wasn't accurate.

Last Wednesday, on Nightly News Williams said: "I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago."

As reported by NBC; NBC News president Deborah Turness said: "We let Brian know of our decision earlier today. Lester Holt will continue to substitute Anchor the NBC Nightly News."
