Multiple large venomous snakes were found near Hudson Valley homes this weekend, including near a pool.

Over the weekend, the Ramapo Police Department responded to two separate calls for a report of a Timber Rattlesnake.

The first call was to a home in the Ladentown area. The snake was found lounging, basking in the sun near the home's pool.

The second snake was found on the front walkway at a home in Sloatsburg. Both snakes were safely relocated to a more suitable, less populated area, police say.

The Timber Rattlesnake is the largest venomous snake in New York, according to the DEC. It's the third largest venomous snake in the United States with an average size of 3 to 4.5 feet.

Despite their size, the snake's color allows them to easily hide. Typically two colors are found, yellow and brown. A series of black or brown crossbands are also seen. The snake's tail is black with a rattle at the end.

While the snake poses a danger because of it's venomous bite, bites aren't common, according to the Ohio Public Library. Timber Rattlesnakes are typically calm and they stay motionless when approached.

If threatened, the snake will stand tall and rattle before attacking.

Bite symptoms typically include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle spasms and swelling.

If you think you've been bitten by a rattlesnake, see a doctor right away.
