Monday, November 30: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Nov. 30) to Billy Idol. The rocker is 60. Also celebrating today is Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover (70).

Billy Idol was born in Middlesex, London and first achieved fame with the punk band Generation X during the 70's punk era. He then embarked on a successful solo career. A series of music videos for songs like Dancing With Myself", "White Wedding", "Rebel Yell". and "Eyes Without a Face" made him one of the first MTV stars.

Idol continues to record and tour with guitarist Steve Stevens. He released his 8th studio album, "Kings and Queens of the Underground" and a biography entitled "Dancing With Myself" in October of 2014. It was announced recently that Billy Idol and his band will be taking the stage at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay for his first-ever multi-date residency beginning March 16, 2016.
