Saugerties Police responded to a complaint of a man menacing with a knife.

According to the victim, he was stopped at a red light when he was approached by Brian Shultis, 28, of Saugerties. Shultis allegedly threatened to cut the complainant's face if he did not stop staring at him.

The victim called 911, and Shultis fled the scene.

While attempting to get away Shultis ran  into another vehicle, causing damage to the other person's vehicle. Shultis did not stop and fled that scene as well.

Officers located Shultis a short time later at his residence, where he was taken into custody. He was transported back to police headquarters and processed.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Saugerties Court later this month.
