Man Allegedly on Heroin Crashes into Hudson Valley Restaurant

A man allegedly overdosing on heroin drove into a popular Hudson Valley restaurant.

Paula's Public House in the Town of Poughkeepsie announced on Facebook a car drove directly into the outside of the restaurant and into the building, causing a lot of damage to the outside and inside of the business.

The driver administered heroin moments before the crash, the Facebook post alleges.

"He was dead on the scene, but because of the quick and brave actions taken by my Chef Justin, my bartender Traci Albertson Carolei, two customers and the swift response of the Police and Fire departments who administered 3 doses of Narcan, the driver was brought back to life," Paula's Public House wrote on Facebook.

Narcan is a drug proven to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Calls to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department to confirm Narcan was used haven't been returned as of this writing.

No one was hurt inside the restaurant, but the damage will force the eatery to be closed indefinitely for repairs.
