If you're Canadian and your name is not Alex Trebek, don't plan on being a contestant on 'Jeopardy!' anytime soon.

'Jeopardy!' has barred Canadian users from applying to be contestants, due to a recent change to Canada's online privacy laws. Here's what 'Jeopardy!' has posted on their website under eligibility.

Alex Trebek, a native Canadian had this to say, as reported by NY Post:

It is true that for the most recent Jeopardy! contestant tryouts, Canadians were precluded from taking the online test, since the show must now comply with new rules set down by the Canadian government. However, people are in our contestant pool for 18 months, and we have featured several Canadians as contestants on Jeopardy! this season and two more who have already taped for appearances in March.

The exact details in regards to the privacy laws that are preventing Canadian users from applying are unknown. Canada also made changes to their Digital Privacy Act, to address how companies obtain information online.
