It's a wrap for one popular show filmed in the Hudson Valley.

HBO Max Teen Drama Films Across the Hudson Valley

In September 2020 we started to hear rumblings of a reboot of Freeform/ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars. The reboot series would follow a new group of girls in a teen drama with a horror-movie-type twist.

Then in August of 2021, filming for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin began in Ulster County. From there, the PLL crew was spotted all over the Hudson Valley. Casting calls for background actors and extras was a hot topic of conversation in the mid-Hudson region.

Shortly after Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin aired, in May of 2022, a second season was picked up. The reboot's second season Pretty Little Liars: Summer School aired in the spring of 2024.

Pretty Little Liars Reboot Gets Canceled After 2 Season

TV Line is reporting that after 2 seasons, the Pretty Little Liars reboot has been canceled at Max.

In a statement obtained by TV Line, the streaming service writes “While Max will not be moving forward with a third season of Pretty Little Liars, we are so grateful to our co-creators, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, as well as the team at Warner Bros. Television, for reintroducing fans to this new iteration of liars who band together to fight the latest creepy villain terrifying Millwood.”

The reboot 8 episode 2nd season ended with a glimpse of what could have been a plot for season 3 with what looked like a murderous version of the Millwood girls.

Where will the 'Liars' go now? We're not too sure, but Chandler Kinney is currently competing on this season of Dancing With The Stars. Kinney is partnered up with pro dancer Brandon Armstrong.

It looks like the PLL girls will no longer be dancing the night away at Billy Joe's in Newburgh, but we're sure there will be more chances for celebrity sightings around the area.

The Newburgh Mall had the Real Creamery set from the show on display in the middle of the mall for fans to come check out. After a few weeks, they ended up putting the Real Creamery set up for sale.

No word yet on whether the set was purchased and by who, but we'll keep an eye out.
