Does rain close the World's Longest Elevated Pedestrian bridge?

It seems like every year right around this time in the Hudson Valley we find ourselves on the receiving end of a ton of rain. Many have joked that Mother Nature seems to enjoy messing with us, one day it's cold and rainy, and the next day it's sunny and 60, for many of us it's extremely frustrating trying to plan outdoor activities, right?

After being cooped up in the house for what feels like forever the majority of us are all super excited to get outdoors and breathe some fresh air but with unpredictable weather it can be difficult especially if you are planning to take a hike or a nice long walk on the Rail Trail or maybe across the Walkway Over the Hudson.

Is the Walkway Open When it's Raining?

That question was recently asked on the Walkway's official Facebook page and at first, I assumed the answer would be NO it can't be open when it's raining but to my surprise, I was completely wrong...LOL! The World's Longest Elevated Pedestrian bridge is OPEN when it's raining and according to the Walkway one of the best times to visit the span is "when it hangs over a misty Hudson River." They say "It's truly a sight to see!"
