Final CHANCE To Sing Center Stage at The Chance Theater
It's hard to explain to those who aren't from the area what The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie really means to us as a community, and for many of us, as individuals. For many, The Chance was likely the first place you went to a show or the venue where you were able to see one of your favorite big-name bands in a smaller, more intimate venue.
For me, it checks all of those boxes. Growing up in the Hudson Valley I went to more shows than I can count at The Chance, and once I began working at the radio station and got to step foot on that stage for the first time in 2005, it was a moment that will forever be etched in my memory.
The Chance Theater Announces Final Shows Before Venue is Sold
It has been a rough few years for The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie. The pandemic obviously impacted live shows in a major way, and on top of that, losing owner Frank Pallett in 2021, and a few short weeks later, his sister and Chance Marketing Director Carolyn Pallett Brophy also passed away.
This left everyone wondering what the fate of the beloved theater would be.
It was confirmed back in August that the venue and business had been sold, and the final schedule of shows to celebrate the legendary theater was released shortly after. The new owners of the site have revealed that they have plans to 'revitalize' the venue.
Step Foot on the Legendary Chance Theater Stage Before Final Shows
An exciting opportunity to get yourself on stage at the Hudson Valley's legendary live music venue will happen on Saturday, October 21st with Emo Night Karaoke at The Chance.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., and sign-ups will begin immediately after for your chance to get up on stage in front of a live band backing your favorite karaoke tune.
