It's not often that the simple goodness of a man is so profound that it leaves a community grieving when that beacon of light goes out... may his family and all who loved him be embraced and comforted by his memory... hopefully Poughkeepsie erects a beacon of light (lamp) in his honor...

Keavan Rivers:

John was a part of the soul of Poughkeepsie. We'll never quite be the same. My heartfelt condolences to his family, and all the people who's lives he touched, my own included. John, you are loved, and truly will be missed. Rest in peace, brother.

John Flowers was known in the City of Poughkeepsie for spearheading his Family Partnership Foundation. According to the foundations website, his mission was “To share hope, happiness and humanity with people in the Hudson Valley”.
