Hudson Valley Man to Compete in New Season of ‘The Bachelorette’
A man from right here in the Mid Hudson Valley will be appearing on the new season of The Bachelorette.
Profiles of the newest group of contestants competing for the affection of bachelorette Becca Kufrin have been posted to ABC's website. The list has revealed that a man from Monroe, NY has been selected as part of the cast.
Only identified as "Kamil," the Orange County resident's profile says he was born in Poland and moved to the United States with his parents when he was just five years old. Kamil claims that he taught himself English by watching cartoons, which should make for some entertaining television dialogue, I'm sure.
The 30-year-old Monroe man has been getting lots of attention for his job title, which he lists as "social media participant." That's right, he's not a social media director or consultant, he lists his primary job as a person that simply participates in social media. Translation: he has a Facebook account.
Of course, we had to track down his account, which we were surprised to find was still public. A page for Kamil Nicalek is full of photos of the Monroe man posing outdoors. A video titled "good times" shows Kamil's feet walking on the beach and pans up to reveal he's drinking a beer in front of the ocean. Good times, indeed.
The Monroe man's Facebook page also includes check-ins at plenty of Hudson Valley hot spots including Storm King Mountain, Gold's Gym in Monroe Woodbury and K&D Pizza in Monroe, which he describes as being the "best pizza place around." Kamil is especially fond of "the slices and garlic knots."
Whether Kamil winds up getting a rose from the Bachelorette during the season premiere is still unknown. We'll have to tune in to see if the Monroe man receives a rose or is sent home by himself to continue participating in social media.
The two-hour premiere of The Bachelorette takes place this Monday, May 28 on ABC.
