A woman from the Bronx was arrested following a Hudson Valley bank fraud investigation.

On March 19, 2016 troopers were called to the Chase bank in LaGrange to investigate a fraud complaint. Employees at the bank reported that an unknown woman came into the bank with a counterfeit Connecticut driver's license, and was portraying herself off as a Chase Bank account holder.

The woman attempted to withdraw $1,400, and fled on foot when she overheard bank employees contacting the actual account holder to verify the transaction.

Following an investigation, Damaris Arocho, age 41, of the Bronx, New York was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for her arrest in September 2016. Arocho was taken into custody in White Plains court where she appeared for an unrelated court appearance.

Damaris Arocho  was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second-degree, and Criminal Impersonation in the second-degree. She was arraigned and sent to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail.
