Governor Cuomo Visits Hudson Valley to Blow Up a Bridge
Governor Cuomo was in the Hudson Valley on Wednesday and blew up a bridge.
The photo-op happened in the Ulster County town of High Falls. Governor Cuomo addressed a crowd in front of the Route 213 bridge just after 9am, saying "So, we're here to blow up a bridge."
And that's exactly what he did.
Cuomo gave a eulogy of sorts for the 85-year-old bridge before pulling the trigger and blowing it up to make way for a new, safer bridge that will soon take its place. The Governor renewed his commitment to strengthening New York's infrastructure, telling those gathered that our state needs to catch up with the rest of the world.
New projects revitalizing JFK airport, LaGuardia airport, the Tappan Zee Bridge and other New York sites are all part of the Governor's plan to create safer travel and boost jobs. Cuomo says he discussed boosting infrastructure during a recent meeting with Donald Trump, who is also a proponent of these projects.
The new High Falls bridge is expected to be completed by the end of June.
