Here is the latest information you need to know if you own a Ford.

It seems that a few times a year we get a massive recall from one carmaker or another and this time around the recall is for newer Ford vehicles because of fear that some seat belts will not work properly in an accident.

According to NBC 2, Ford has announced that they are recalling more than 550,000 trucks and SUVs including certain 2018 through 2020 F-150 pickups, 2019 and 2020 Super Duty trucks, 2018 and 2019 Explorer SUVs, and 2019 and 2020 Expedition SUVs. All of the recalled vehicles have a manual driver or front passenger seat-back recliner mechanisms.

Ford also said that they are recalling some 2020 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs that have rear seats with manual seatback mechanisms.

The official reason for the recall is that Ford said some of the trucks might not have a "third pawl" which is needed for seat strength. If the seat belt doesn't have it, it can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
