Fashion is weird.

In an industry where you sometimes pay more to look like less, style can be subjective. Sometimes the "worn out" look can be attractive to some.

This is exactly what an Italian clothing line is doing. Huffington Post is reporting that a company called Golden Goose is selling pairs of sneakers that are supposed to intentionally look old and worn out. From Nordstrom's website:

Crumply, hold-it-all-together tape details a distressed leather sneaker in a retro low profile with a signature sidewall star and a grungy rubber cupsole.

These aren't exactly Air Jordan's. What's generating so much buzz about this is the price. How much? Try $530. This would make your new pair of Jordan's actually look cheap.

The shoes are getting their fair share of backlash all over social media. Some took to Twitter to criticize their appearance and the ridiculous price tag. Others took it further, by saying the clothing company is making a mockery out of poverty.

One Twitter user said that there are lot of people in the world who are forced to wear plastic bags as shoes, while the fashion industry pushes these unattractive shoes for over five hundred bucks.

If you want old, worn-out shoes, why not keep wearing the ones you've got?
