Could You Give Up Your Phone for $100,000?

If you are like most of us, your phone is probably one of the most important things you own, heck, your most likely looking at this on your smart phone or iPad right now.

Do you think you could survive a full year without it? For no reason, probably not, but for some serious cash I think I might be able to do it.

According to WTEN, the company Vitaminwater has announced a new contest that could score us $100,000, if we can give up our phone for all of 2019.

Yes that means no phone or iPad for 365 days and according to the rules you won't be able to use anyone else's phone or iPad either for the full year and to prove that you have gone phone free you will have to take a lie detector test at the end to prove that you stuck to the rules.

If you pass the test you get $100,000. If you only make it 6 months they will give you $10,000 and just in case of emergencies the company will give the one lucky contestant a 2000s era cell phone with a monthly plan to make calls and send texts.

The company posted a statement to their website that reads, "The vitaminwater brand stands for breaking the monotony, and intentionally behaving in ways that run against the status quo. Vitaminwater is challenging fans to take on this mission to call attention to the monotony found in their own day-to-day life —from scrolling through their social media to eating the same thing every day — in order to discover a more vibrant way of living outside of the lines."

If you think you can do it and want to enter, all you need to do is create a Tweet or Instagram post explaining how you would use your year if you took a break from your smartphone. You have to use the hashtags #nophoneforayear and #contest to be eligible and your entry needs to be done by January 8th, 2019.
