The actor who played 'Alf' in the popular 80's sitcom has passed away at the age of 76. 

Michu Meszaros, who stood only 33 inches tall, suffered a stroke last week and passed away Sunday evening.

Meszaros wore a full suit as he portrayed the wise-cracking alien, who waws always played by a puppet. the character was voiced by another actor. Meszaros was born in Hungary, and joined the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey circus in 1973. Other than 'Alf',  Meszaros also appeared in films such as 'Look Who's Talking', and 'Big Top Pee Wee'.

He also performed for President Jimmy Carter and was befriended by Michael Jackson, after Jackson had seen him perform.

A GoFundMe page was recently set up to help Meszaros with medical and funeral costs.
