The New York State Police from Troop F removed 17 impaired drivers from local roads this weekend while Troopers from Troop K removed another twenty-four.

Troop F reports that among those arrested was 44-year-old Stephen Olenski of Kingston for felony DWI under Leandra's Law. Olenski was pulled over on Hurley Avenue in Kingston on December 14 for a violation of vehicle and traffic violation. The investigation revealed that Olenski was impaired by alcohol while he had a child in the car.  As a result of the child's presence, Olenski was also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On the east side of the Hudson River, Troop K's impaired driver arrests include several that involved motor vehicle accidents. On December 14, 68-year-old Andrew Depodwin of Somers was arrested for drug related DWAI. According to Troopers, Depodwin was traveling south on State Route 202 in Somers when he was involved in a personal injury auto accident. The investigation revealed that the defendant was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

On December 15 Christopher J. Kelly of Mahopac was arrested for DWI. The State Police say that the 27 -year-old male was traveling on I-84 in East Fishkill when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned. According to the Troopers, Kelly was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

New York State Police from the Wappingers barracks arrested 63-year-old Donna Zeller of Fishkill on December 15. Troopers pulled Zeller over on Route 9 in Fishkill for a violation of the State's vehicle and traffic laws. Troopers allege that Zeller, who had just picked her vehicle up from the impound yard was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and arrested her for DWI. Troopers said that Zeller's car had spent the night in the impound yard the night before because she had been arrested on the previous day for DWI.
