Customers are puzzled after a local bar and grill has seemingly closed for good with no explanation.

This is the second abrupt closing of a bar and restaurant we've reported on in the last week. Recently, BC Kitchen in Arlington shut their doors with no warning. At least in that instance, there was a comment on the business' website confirming the closure. Another Poughkeepsie bar has left their customers in the dark as to why they've been shut down for weeks.

On November 21 Groggers Bar and Grill on Dutchess Turnpike in Poughkeepsie announced on their Facebook page that they would be shut down for the Thanksgiving holiday through that Sunday. Customers say they never reopened.

The restaurant has been closed and the lights have been off for the past month. Calls to Groggers have gone unanswered and questions about the future of the restaurant have been ignored on the business' Facebook page. We reached out to the bar and grill online to find out what's been happening and did not immediately receive a response.

Back in April, Groggers made news after a former employee broke into the restaurant after hours and was charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Petit Larceny. Since then the business has received mostly positive reviews for their food and entertainment. Events like Trivia Night, country line dancing and karaoke were ongoing up until the doors abruptly closed on Thanksgiving.

If we hear back from management we will update this story.
