On Thanksgiving night in 1974 (which happened to be on the same day as this year's Nov 28th) Elton John performed at Madison Square Garden, and he had a special guest come in to jam on a couple of songs that were not Elton's.  John Lennon.

John Lennon recorded a single called "Whatever gets you through the night" and Elton said to John that this song was going to top the Billboard 100 charts at number 1, and if it did, he would have to join Elton at MSG to perform some songs with him.  By the way Elton recorded the song with John Lennon on his solo album "Walls and Bridges".

Sadly this was the last time we would hear John Lennon perform live in front of a large audience as he was killed on December 8th of 1980 in New York City.

Also on the program is live music from ELO at Wembley Stadium and The Marshall Tucker Band from South Carolina.  Sunday night at 10pm on 101.5 WPDH and on the WPDH app.
