WPDH Album of the Week: The Doors ‘Waiting for the Sun’

Released in July 1968, "Waiting for the Sun" was the third studio album from The Doors. The album became their first and only number 1 featuring their second U.S. number 1 single, "Hello, I Love You" and it was also the band's first hit album in the U.K. The album has gone on to sell over 9 million copies. Reviews of the album were generally well received, although Rolling Stone magazine stated, "After a year and a half of Jim Morrison's posturing, one might logically hope for some musical growth, and if the new record really isn't terrible, it isn't particularly exciting either."
