Wife Accidentally Shoots Husband Who Was Surprising Her With Breakfast

Fayetteville, N.C. - A woman accidentally shot her husband in the chest while he was trying to surprise her with breakfast. according to authorities.

Tiffany Segule, 27, shot and injured her husband, Fort Bragg soldier Zia Segule, 28, at their home Friday morning.

According to officials, Zia returned home unannounced just after 10 a.m. with plans to surprise his wife with breakfast.

The alarm in the home sounded and his wife shot her husband through a closed door thinking he was an intruder, according to police.

He entered through the front door. It is unclear whether he tried to turn the alarm off, or announced himself.

Her husband was able to walk and talk after the incident, and has been released from the hospital.
