On September 22 the skies over Newburgh will be filled with kites.

Free kits will be given out next Saturday at an event called Kites Over The Hudson. The kite launch will take place at Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site on Liberty Street starting at 2pm. While everyone is welcome to bring their own kites to fly, 150 free kites will be given out to kids 15 and under.

Kites Over The Hudson is expected to result in a spectacular display of kites over Washinton's Headquarters near the Hudson River. The only question left is how organizers expect to untangle all of those kite strings when they inevitably start bumping into each other. We suggest bringing along some scissors, just in case.

Attendees will also be able to tour the historic site and view its exhibits for free throughout the day. There will also be complimentary refreshments and other activities planned throughout the day.
