Teachers can have a major impact on a student's life. How many times during an awards acceptance speech have you heard someone thank their teacher for inspiring them so many years ago. Teachers do so much for our children and our schools. Here in the Hudson Valley, we're lucky to have as many great teachers as we do.

Just as in any profession, there are great schools to teach at and some that could use a little help. If you're a teacher, or going to school to become one, where are the best places for you to teach in New York, specifically the Hudson Valley?

According to Niche.com, they've compiled a list of the best school districts throughout the state based on criteria such as salaries, administration policies, health and safety, facilities, student-teacher ratio, and more. Where do schools in the Hudson Valley rank?

Out of the top 100 schools on Niche's list, Haldane Central School District in Cold Spring comes in at #32, Rhinebeck Central School District is #49, Spackenkill Union Free District is at #60 on the list, followed by Tuxedo Union Free District at #61. Also making the list is Red Hook Central School District at #72 and Highland Falls Central School District at #97.

What do you make of the list? What are your thoughts? Let us know and congratulations to all the great teachers who help make our schools as good as they are.
