Keep an eye open for treasure if you're driving up North on the New York State Thruway today.  Early this morning a U-Haul truck carrying over $2 million worth of gold and silver crashed against a guard rail.

According to state troopers, the truck was headed on the eastbound lane near Buffalo.  The big question is: Why so much gold and silver was packed in a U-Haul in the first place?  According to NBC10.com, the driver was a government worker transporting "large mechanical filter-like cores used in military aircraft, which contain both precious metals."

The driver was not hurt and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
