A Putnam County man ended up in the hospital after he was robbed and stabbed for $3.

On July 5th, 2017 at approximately 12:43 am, Brewster Police and Troopers responded to a reported robbery.

The victim, a 30-year old Brewster man, reported that he was walking when he was approached by two young men.

The victim tried to flee, but was attacked. The suspects forcibly stole $3 from the victim and stabbed him with a knife during the attack before fleeing into a wooded area.

The victim was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening laceration to his right bicep.

State Police investigation led to the identity and arrest of the suspects.

Michael J. Villegas, 20 years old, of Brewster (pictured above) was arrested and charged with Robbery second-degree, a Class C Felony.

Also arrested was a 16-year old male, also of Brewster, NY. The teen was charged with Robbery first-degree, and Assault second-degree, both felonies.

The 16-year old's name and mugshot are being withheld due to his age.

Both were arraigned in the Village of Brewster Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail.

Villegas is being held on $2,500 bail, or $5,000 bond. The 16-year old male is being held on $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 bond.

Both are due to reappear in court later this month.
