Ride, Walk or Run, to Help Those Fighting Cancer
If you're a cyclist, runner, or walker, there's a great event coming later this month on Sunday, September 17 that's perfect for you. Plus, you'll be helping individuals and families here in the Hudson Valley who are not only fighting cancer, but financial difficulties as well.
It's Bike For Cancer Care and for the past 14 years, this event has raised funds to help cancer patients and their families through the Benedictine Health Foundation's Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund. They’ve helped more than 1,750 cancer patients and their families with $500 gift cards to purchase nutritious food at Hannaford Supermarkets and/or fuel at Stewart’s Shops to assist with transportation costs.
It's easy to help and fun to participate. Here's what you need to know, the 14th annual Bike for Cancer Care is Sunday, September 17th at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, to benefit the Benedictine Health Foundation's Rosemary Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund. 3 different routes are offered, a 12, 25, and the Dan Barnes Memorial 50 mile ride. In addition, they have a family-friendly 5K Run/Walk For Cancer Care throughout the Historic Stockade District in Uptown Kingston and the Kids' Fun Run inside Dietz Stadium.
It's a great day that helps so many families here in the Hudson Valley. We hope to see you there this year.
