President Of Argentina Adopts Young Boy To Prevent Him From Turning Into A Werewolf

Yes you read the headline correctly. The President of Argentina has adopted a Jewish boy to prevent him from turning into a werewolf.

President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, has adopted Yair Tawil as her godson when she met with the boys family in a unusual ceremony last week.

According to Argentine legend, the 7th son born to a family without any daughters is condemned to take the form of a werewolf. The change happens after the boy's 13th birthday, and then he will take the form of a werewolf or "lobison" during every full moon, where he will hunt and kill before returning to his human form.

Back in the 19th century, fear of the lobison or werewolf was so great that people began murdering and abandoning their sons.it was then that the Presidential office decided to start a tradition of adoption.

Beginning in 1907, the tradion was formally established in 1973 and was extended to include the 7th daughter as well. Up until 2009, the tradition was only reserved for Catholics.

Kirchner, on her Twitter account, called the ceremony a “magical moment,” and said the Tawils are a “marvelous family.”
