Police: Man Wielding Wrench Forces His Way Into Ex’s Home
An Albany County man is facing multiple charges in Ulster County After he allegedly forced his way into her home wielding a wrench and forced her into his vehicle.
On Saturday, April 21, Saugerties Police received a 911 report that a man had kicked the door in at a residence in the Village of Saugerties, on Partition Street, and then forcibly removed a female against her will from within.
An investigation by detectives established that the man went to his ex-girlfriend's residence to confront her about her new boyfriend.
the man allegedly broke into the victim's home through the front door and was wielding a large torque wrench. The man allegedly forced his ex-girlfriend into his vehicle and drove off.
The victim's new boyfriend was present during the incident and called 911.
Police located both the man and the victim on Main Street. The man was taken into custody.
He was charged with Burglary second-degree, Menacing, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Reckless Endangerment.
The man was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties, and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
