N.Y. State Woman Claims She Was Leading Peaceful Protest by Blocking McDonald’s Drive-Thru

Diana Smith just wants to give peace a chance.

That's what she said to authorities after the 35 year-old Ilion, New York blocked a drive-thru window at McDonald's.

Police say that Smith drove up to the drive-through window at the McDonalds in the village of Ilion and then just stopped.

Smith refused to move, and instead rolled up her window as she turned up the music in her vehicle.

She never even ordered anything.

Police arrived at about 7:45 a.m. That's when the peaceful protest suddenly ended and Smith sped away. The high speed chase reached the Thruway where police briefly broke off the pursuit.

Ilion police eventually caught up with the peace protester in her driveway the following day and charged her with reckless driving, fleeing, and a number of traffic violations.

As of now, no one has any idea what she was actually protesting.
