My Lost Treasure: Three Dog Night

Our current theme on My Lost Treasure is guys names.  It is another old one for today, but it is a cool one.  It was not written by Three Dog Night.  It was written by the great singer song writer Laura Nyro.  But Three Dog Night had the hit with it.

I didn't know that much about Laura Nyro when I was a kid.  Then as a teenager I went to see her at a free concert in New York City's central Park.  I was surprised by how many songs of hers I was familiar with.  She wrote tons of hits for other artists.  Fast forward twenty five years.  My musician boyfriend Bobby joins a band here in the Hudson Valley, and the bass player is a woman named Barbara Cobb.  Her claim to fame?  She played for many years with Laura Nyro.  So we got to hear some great stories.

Laura Nyro sadly passed away in 1997 at only 49 years old, but her music lives on. Today's pick is one of her finest.
