My Lost Treasure: Happy Birthday Neil Diamond

Today is Neil Diamond's 78th birthday. And what a 78 years it's been. He's had a great career in music and in the movies. He's earned the respect of many musicians and, of course, millions of fans.

I am such a big fan of Neil Diamond. I grew up listening to and loving his songs. He is just an awesome musician. What? You don't think Neil Diamond is cool? He was even part of The Band's Last Waltz. It doesn't get much cooler than that. I was lucky enough to see Neil Diamond do his Christmas show years ago at Madison Square Garden. One of the best shows I have ever seen. And he did a lot more than just Christmas music.

I can't even tell you how sad I was to hear that Neil Diamond was retiring from touring due to health issues. He even retired with class, stopping right in the middle of a tour because he knew he couldn't give his fans the show that he felt they deserved. Happy Birthday, Neil Diamond, you are most certainly a hero. And a cool one at that.
