Today (Jan. 29), we remember original Ramones drummer Tommy Ramone on his birthday. He who would have been 69. Other rocker birthdays include Queensryche bassist and co-founder Eddie Jackson (57) and American blues guitarist Jonny Lang (37).

Tommy Ramone was drummer for the Ramones during the band's first four years and last original surviving member before his passing in 2014 after a battle with bile duct cancer. The Ramones formed in 1974, out of Forrest Hills, Queens in New York City and were a major influence on the punk 70’s punk movement in the U.S. and U.K. The band toured virtually nonstop for 22 years, performing 2,263 concerts. The Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
