Lunch at City Winery is a Perfect Hudson Valley Saturday Retreat

There are some hidden gems in the Hudson Valley, and lunch at City Winery is one of them.

The rustic and charming City Winery in Montgomery, NY is more than just an exciting entertainment venue. Those who've been to this cozy restaurant know that it's a great place to relax and linger with friends. And now, the Barrel Room and outdoor patio are both open for lunch on Saturdays.

The Barrel Room is dripping with atmosphere and history. The dining area was once the entranceway to the mill that has been transformed into The City Winery. A huge fireplace is the focal point of the room and perfect for gathering on a crisp fall day.

Outside is the multi-level patio area overlooking the Wallkill River. Also open for dining, the outdoor space allows guests views of the Montgomery Mills property while ordering off of the full menu. As the weather begins to cool, outdoor fireplaces and heat lamps will keep the space open through the Fall.

Of course, the real reason to dine at City Winery is the food. As one would expect, their menu is inspired by wine. The regionally influenced and locally sourced cuisine is influenced by Italian, French, Spanish and Middle-Eastern cultures that have made pairing great food with wine into an art form.

Of course, incredible musical acts are also on the roster, with Martin Sexton playing the amphitheater on August 22, The Weight Band, featuring members of The Band on September 11, Max Weinberg's Jukebox on September 12, Sexmob on September 19, Al & Rob Moe.stly Acoustic on October 2 and 90's favorites Spin Doctors and Susanne Vega playing early this fall. Or if you're in the mood for some laughs, comedian Sandra Bernhard visits City Winery on the afternoon of August 29.
