Villa Roma Resort In Callicoon Reopens After Power Issue

One of the largest resorts in Sullivan County has provided an update after having to temporarily close to deal with electricity issues.

Last week, we learned that Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon was forced to close its doors while the resort worked to resolve an electrical issue. At the time, management said it was working directly with NYSEG to get service restored and return the resort to normal operations.

The good news is that, according to a new press release, Villa Roma is back open.

The resort in Callicoon resumed operations on Tuesday, September 29, after management said its outstanding electricity account was fully paid and the power issue was resolved. Management also said that things are moving in the right direction, with the focus now back on getting the resort fully operational and welcoming guests, timeshare owners, and employees.

Major Investments in Resort

The company also says it has been investing heavily in the resort since taking over. According to Villa Roma, Fay Hospitality has invested more than $11 million in management operations, renovations and capital improvements since acquiring the property.

Fay Hospitality Catskills LLC purchased Villa Roma on September 6, 2024, for $20.7 million from longtime owners Marty Passante and Paul Carlucci, who had owned and operated the resort for 54 years.

The resort, located at 356 Villa Roma Rd, in Callicoon, NY, sits on 434 acres and features 139 hotel rooms, 232 timeshare apartments, an 18-hole championship golf course, an indoor golf simulator, restaurants, cafés, bars, lounges, indoor and outdoor pools, and plenty of recreational activities.

Villa Roma also offers live entertainment, wellness facilities, conference space, weddings and family-friendly activities throughout the year.
