I'll be honest, I have noticed this yet but there's a good chance I'm not paying close enough attention. When I'm in TJ Maxx I'm usually distracted by the nicknacks on the shelves while I wait on the mile-long line.

I digress.

Loss Prevention Associates at TJ Maxx, Marshalls Locations

CNN reports that TJ Maxx and Marshalls store workers are now wearing body cameras. Nathaniel Meyersohn off CNN writes "Retail giant TJX, the parent of TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, said it’s equipping some store employees with body cameras to thwart shoplifting and keep customers and employees safe."

During an earnings call in May, TJX finance chief John Klinger said, "It’s almost like a de-escalation, where people are less likely to do something when they’re being videotaped."

These body cameras aren't going on every employee. CNN reports that in the last year, TJX has hired "loss prevention associates" to wear these body cams.
