The holiday spirit is quickly sneaking into the Hudson Valley.

Earlier this month, we learned that a tree from Vestal, New York was chosen by Rockefeller Center to be the centerpiece of the holiday season in New York City. Now the Broome County tree is making its way down to 30 Rock for the big show!

Vestal, New York Tree Makes its Way to Rockefeller Center

On Thursday, November 9th, New York State troopers were on hand as crews began the process of cutting down the 12-ton 80-foot Vestal, New York tree. The Tree was then placed on a flatbed truck and began its journey to New York City.

The New York State Police shared all the fun details on social media writing:

Everyone was in the Christmas spirit in Vestal today! The tree picked to be showcased as the Rockefeller Christmas tree was cut this morning on Murray Hill Road. Troopers from Troop C were on hand during the event then escorted the tree to Troopers in Troop F. The tree will make its way down into NYC on November 11!

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Spotted Traveling Through the Hudson Valley

After the tree departed Vestal, New York the reports of Hudson Valley sightings came pouring in. We've seen posts of the tree traveling in Sullivan County and later that night the tree made a stop in Suffren on the NYS Thruway before it made its final trek to NYC.

According to some reports, the tree had a little bit of an issue getting through Main Street in Monticello. A listener named Dave called in to tell us that the flatbed with the tree had an issue turning on Bridgeville Road and had to continue straight to an easier route.

We received this photo from Chris at the Suffren parking lot off the NYS Thruway:
