New York Big Lots Stores Closing

Another Big Lots location in New York has "Store Closing" signs set up outside of the store, could more be closing soon?

Earlier this month we shared the news that another one of the big chain retail stores began displaying signs in front of select New York stores that the locations would be closing soon. At the time three Big Lots store locations had "store closing" signs plastered all over the buildings. Some stores hired people to stand outside of the locations with "everything must go signs" to let shoppers and drivers that pass by the stores know that they would be closing soon.

Big Lots Closing New York Stores

At first, three of the 68 Big Lots stores in New York that were set to close soon included locations at Central Ave in Colonie, NY, 103 Old Country Rd, Riverhead, NY, and the store located on North Plank Road, Newburgh, NY. According to a store employee at the Newburgh location, the store would be closing on January 14th, 2024 as they prepare to move into a new location in the Mid Valley Mall near Market 32 on North Plank Road. That store is expected to be opening sometime in the summer.

Another New York Big Lots Closing

We can now add a Rockland County Big Lots store to the list of stores that are closing soon. The store located at 125 Route 59 in Nanuet, NY currently has "store closing, this location only" signs in and around the building implying that they are closing soon. We did try to contact the Nanuet store to see if they could share any other information about when or why the store was closing but were unsuccessful. When more information becomes available we will update this article.

We've spoken to a few shoppers who have been to the Nanuet store recently and they told us that many of the store shelves are already empty, so if you are planning to go shopping to try and find a great deal, don't be disappointed when the store doesn't have much inventory.
