
Two Found Dead Inside a House in Poughkeepsie
A welfare check leads to a gruesome discovery inside a home in the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department has confirmed that officers, who were called to execute a welfare check at 21 Homer Place in Poughkeepsie, NY, have found two people deceased inside the home.
Two Found Dead in Home in Poughkeepsie, NY
Police said that on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, officers received a request to perform a welfare check of the residents at 21 Homer Place in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Upon arrival, officers looked into the residence and discovered that there were a male and a female, who appeared to be injured, lying on the floor in the foyer of the home. Officers reported that all of the entrances to the residence were locked, and there didn't appear to be any signs of forced entry.

Officers proceeded to make entry into the home and once inside, discovered that the two subjects were deceased. They began a search of the house, which revealed nobody else was inside the residence.
Murder-Suicide in Poughkeepsie, NY?
Police haven't released the names of the deceased or the cause of death yet, and said more information will be released once the autopsy results are complete. Details surrounding what happened are limited, but some reports are claiming that it's being investigated as a murder-suicide, though police have yet to confirm that.
