Have you heard of the Liberty Pass? It gives those who served our country and family members access to the most beautiful parks in New York State.

Lifetime Liberty Pass + Free Access to NYS Parks

Earlier this week the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Government shared on Facebook new information regarding the Liberty Pass. According to the post Military Veterans and Gold Star Families "who live in NY now have free access to NY State Parks & Historic Sites through the expansion of the Lifetime Liberty Pass Program."

The Department of Environmental Conservation website goes on to add that the Lifetime Liberty Pass will give veterans and Gold Star parents, spouses, and children discounted use of state parks. Once the Lifetime Liberty Pass is issued, it will never expire.

With that being said, the pass holder "must be present when utilizing the pass for its intended benefits."

Perks of the Lifetime Liberty Pass For NY Veterans

What exactly benefits come with the Lifetime Liberty Pass? The DEC website explains "The Lifetime Liberty Pass benefits include free vehicle entry to most state-operated parks and DEC-operated day-use areas, as well as numerous state-operated boat launch sites, historic sites, arboretums, and park preserves."

The Liberty pass also gives pass holders "free greens fees at state-operated golf courses; free swimming pool entrance at State Park pools; and discounted camping and cabin rentals at most State Park and DEC campgrounds."
