Forty years ago, one of the most legendary comic strips in modern history was published for the first time. While its run "only" lasted a decade, Calvin and Hobbes has entered a tier of cultural reverence reserved for a select few.

From newspapers to anthology books, Calvin and Hobbes is a gift that keeps on giving. Now, New Yorkers can get a behind-the-scenes look at how two beloved pals made their way into the hearts of millions of people.

Worthwhile Museums in Upstate New York

While New York City gets most of the cultural credit, there are several engaging museums further upstate as well. To celebrate, an exhibit featuring artifacts lent from the the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum is now open.
