Should the Hudson Valley put up a sign that welcomes visitors in this spot?

Everyone and I mean everyone knows the iconic "Hollywood" sign that's in Los Angelos, California. It's become a staple in the country, has been seen in multiple movies and it's even more recognizable than the White House. I have my picture infront of the sign from when I was younger and again recently, you do feel special and like you're a part of Hollywood when you're near it.

Recently, a decent size sign was placed near the entrance of the City of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan. It's supposed to welcome people to the city and show how it's making a comeback and becoming a more desirable place to live.

The Hudson Valley has become a very desirable place to live and it made me wonder, if a sign was going to go up that said "Hudson Valley", where should it go?

People called in during the morning show and left their answers on the WRRV Facebook Page/App and here's what they said in order for most votes:

  • The Walkway Over the Hudson
  • The Newburgh Waterfront
  • Mt. Beacon
  • Mohonk Mountain
  • Bear Mountain Area
  • Kingston/Rhinecliff Bridge

The winner by a lot was The Walkway Over the Hudson. Most people have seen it, driven by or walked on the walkway atleast once during their time here. Due to the height of it, many people will be able to see it and it will really show how beautiful the Hudson Valley really is.

Do you think we should start a petition to put a sign there? Are there other places that were not on the list that would be good? Share your thoughts with us on the station app.
