Hudson Valley residents who have a sweet tooth might want to get down to Newburgh this weekend.

Americans and especially New Yorkers love their sweets. Candy gets popular around the fall season especially during Halloween. Even leading up to Christmas and Hanukkah people love to use the holidays to eat festive candies. It turns out that we may use the holidays as an excuse to eat more candy but that doesn't stop us from eating it all year. It is estimated that the average American eats just under 10 pounds of candy each year. I think I may double that each year.

The most popular type of candy consistently s chocolate. It would be difficult to find someone who didn't like some form of chocolate whether it is a brownie, candy bar or cookie.

I know I am not the only candy lover around here. There are so many chocolate lovers that plane to fill a whole building full of them this weekend in Newburgh, New York.

Chocolate Expo coming to Newburgh.

The Chocolate Expo will be taking place at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center this
Sunday, December 10th. The event will last from 10am-6pm.
According to their Facebook page the facility will be transformed with into an absolute chocolate wonderland with even a special guest appearance from actor Paris Themmen, who played Mike Teevee in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory alongside Gene Wilder.
Who knows chocolate better than someone who has been to the factory before?
