A Hudson Valley teenager has been charged with possessing a .38 caliber revolver, after leading police on car chase and foot pursuit.

The 16-year old male, from Newburgh who's name and mugshot are being withheld due to his age, was arrested after leading authorities on the chase. Officer Ricardo Rivera attempted to stop the vehicle after observing an infraction. The car fled and lead police on a short chase.

According to a press release from the City of Newburgh Police Department, The vehicle came to a stop and the driver and a passenger took off on foot. Authorities were able to locate and arrest the driver. The passenger could not be located.

Police did bring in the K9 unit and recovered the gun from the vehicle. The 16-year old driver was charged with possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
