Two people who may have committed a crime in Dutchess County were arrested in Ulster County following a high-speed chase with police.

Wednesday around 3:10 p.m., members from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office spotted a car that matched the description of a suspect vehicle in a larceny case that occurred in Dutchess County.

Authorities tried to stop the car in the area of the Route 9W and Route 199 in the Town of Ulster. However, the vehicle fled south on Route 209.

On woman posted on the Ulster County Sheriff’s Facebook Page that the car was driving in the wrong direction on Route 208 and almost hit her car, which included her two young children.

Members of the New York State Police and Town of Ulster Police also attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle was eventually stopped by police on Washington Avenue just west of Hurley Avenue in the City of Kingston.

Two male suspects were taken into custody. Police haven’t released the names of the two men, or any charges. More information is expected to come in the near future.
