KINGSTON -  The first three innings of the Class A Sectional title game were a back and forth battle between Saugerties and Cornwall.

Cornwall scored 2 in the first, Saugerties scored 2 in the third, and Cornwall answered back with 2 more in the bottom of the third. But in the top of the 4th, down 4-2, Saugerties exploded for 6 runs with a combination of hits and Cornwall errors. That inning proved to be the difference in the game and gave the Sawyers the separation they would need to win the school's second sectional title in two months. The boys basketball team did it in March.

Cornwall was able to chip away at the lead, but there just wasn't enough innings to get all the runs back and Saugerties wins it 9-6.
