Friday, September 4: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Sept. 4) to Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. who turns 59. Also celebrating today is guitarist Kim Thayil of Soundgarden (55) and Pretenders drummer Martin Chambers (64).

Formed in 1982 out of Los Angeles metal scene, the band W.A.S.P. gained notoriety for their shock rock themed image, lyrics, and live performances. They have sold over 12 million albums.

W.A.S.P. will release their 15th studio album 'Golgotha' on Oct. 2 on Austria's Napalm Records.
