9/11 Memorial in Dutchess County Vandalized

A 9/11 memorial plaque in Dutchess County has been vandalized. 

The 9/11 memorial plaque at Stringham Park in LaGrange was vandalized early last week.

The memorial plaque that is mounted to a steel I-beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center, was vandalized with etchings including the word "KiD".

The vandalism comes at a time when plans were underway for this year's September 11 Ceremony.

The Sunrise Rotary Club of LaGrange built the memorial in 2002, and have lovingly maintained it over the years.

The State Police have been notified of the vandalism and the plaque will be removed and repair, hopefully in time for the ceremony.
