Three Hudson Valley men were arrested after a man was stabbed in the back of the head and beaten in front of his young child.

According to Ellenville police, Monday around 11:30 p.m., a 40-year-old man was walking on Park Street with his girlfriend and their 7-year-old son when they were approached by three men. During a dispute, one of the men stabbed the victim in the back of the head while two other suspects hit him with a crutch and their fists.

The three then fled in a red Ford.

The unnamed victim was taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital where he received 13 staple stitches.

The car that they alleged suspects fled in was found by State Police a short time later in Wawarsing. Two of the three men surrendered to police without incident.

On Tuesday at around 5PM, the third suspect was located by Ellenville police and arrested.

Carlos Andino Lopez, Joel Lorenzo, and Earl Mansfield, all from Ellenville, were all charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

Police say they recovered physical evidence and what they believe to be the weapons used in the beating.

All three were remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond bail. They are due in the Village of Ellenville Court on Friday.
